Oded Aminov's (Richmond, B.C.) fourth-place finish in the triple jump and a slew of personal bests had to leave UBC Thunderbirds track and field coach Laurier Primeau grinning about the future.

The UBC Thunderbirds track and field team won the Pacific World Cup at the Jerome Indoor Games on Saturday at the Richmond Olympic Oval. UBC earned the trophy as the meet's top university team.

A majority of the UBC Thunderbirds track and field roster will open the 2016 campaign at the Harry Jerome Indoor Games on Saturday, February 6, at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

Three extraordinary athletes, two unique builders and one historically significant national championship-winning team have been selected for induction in 2016 into the UBC Sports Hall of Fame.

The local, national and international successes of UBC Thunderbirds athletes and teams have been recognized with five Sport BC 50th annual Athlete of the Year Awards nominations. In addition, an incoming recruit also earned a nomination.
