The University of British Columbia showed they are still a force to be reckoned with this week, sweeping the men's and women's cross country athlete of the week honors with John Gay and Madelyn Brunt earning the inaugural cross country nods.
The UBC Thunderbirds men were third and the women fifth at the 2016 cross country season-opening Sundodger Invitational on a rainy Saturday morning at Seattle's Lincoln Park.
UBC will start their 2016 season in the "Emerald City" with the Washington Sundodger Invitational. The meet at Lincoln Park in the heart of Seattle, Washington will be the first test for the T-Birds after the NAIA national ranking were released.
